Skyscraper Manhattan

Skyscraper Manhattan

This could be viewed as a long variation on the classic Manhattan, or a more complex version of a whisky based Horse's Neck (what is commonly known as whisky and dry). Either way, its an excellent way of lengthening the Manhattan without compromising on the excellent flavour combination of Whisky and Vermouth. As with the standard Manhattan its possible to vary the sweetness to taste, by adjusting the proportion of sweet and dry vermouths.

Quick Guide

Mix

2.5 shots of Bourbon
0.5 shots of Sweet Vermouth
0.5 shots of Dry Vermouth
1 dash of Old Fashioned Bitters
Top up with Ginger Ale

Shake

Add the first three ingredients to the mixing tin with lots of ice, shake thoroughly, strain over lots of ice and top up with Ginger Ale.

Pour

Serve in a Collins glass and garnish with a cherry or an orange zest.
